Europe Summer Episode Nine

EPISODE NINE: Wherein I walked 14km in wet socks.

Checked out of hostel and deposit my bag at Victoria Station. Cost 6 pounds to alleviate myself from that 8kg of belongings. But it was worth it. Wet socks, heavy bag and long distance walking spells trouble. Take one out of that equation maybe I wun die so fast. But I still died anyway, you will soon see.

We walked down Victoria Street, across Westminster Bridge, along the banks of the south of the Thames river then across London Bridge to reach the Monument. Approximately 7km in all.
Joined the free walking tour (http://www.neweuropetours.eu/) to discover the London city all over again. The rain yesterday dampened our spirits and just a day in London is clearly not enough. Our friendly youthful guide shared stories and insights during this intriguing, 3.5 hour overview walking tour covering another 7km of London.

Total distance covered on foot: 14km. Whee!

Below are some of the landmark sights of London:

Starting from top left:
1. Royal Exchange
